Dixon Museum

I saw the "Art of Hugo" exhibit at the Dixon museum with art by the illustrator Brian Selznick. His style is a little curvy for my taste but the pencil work that he had on display was pretty amazing regardless of what kind of style you like. Everything was settled on the page with the right strength. Details could be seen on images from more than ten feet away on pages the size of postcards. I'll probably be jealous of his ability to crosshatch for a long long  time. His color work was also pretty amazing. Perfect transitions from light to dark. Very tight vibrant colors.
